What is it about fishing that
attracts so many people? Is it the solitude? The often
beautiful, peaceful surroundings? The eager anticipation of
catching a big one? Or are we all truly mad? Whatever it is,
it's almost hypnotic, and once on the bank it's a lure that has spoilt
many a meal. How often have we had "just one more cast",
"just one more fish", and then stayed there until we
couldn't see any more?
I have been fishing for more years than I
care to remember, taught by my father who is still an active angler, and
I am now introducing my children to this fascinating sport.
Unfortunately, and like so many other keen anglers, my time on the bank is
limited so I have to snatch a few hours wherever and whenever I can.
With this in mind, catching fish almost
immediately becomes a priority, there is no time to waste. So, to that
end, I have put together details of the best day ticket waters around the
North West, many of them fished by myself, with pictures and details of
how much, how to get there, rules that apply to each water, and what you
are likely to catch. Each water will be updated regularly, giving
you the most up to date information available.
So if you are looking for
somewhere new
to try, or want to know how your favourite water is fishing, why not
check out one of the venues on this site, you won't be disappointed.
You will also find information on local
tackle shops, people offering tuition, tips and
tricks, trophies and gifts, and a place
where you can buy and sell the stuff you no longer need, for FREE.
This site is
by a fisherman for fishermen
so help me to get you the information that you need by sending me some feedback.
Tell me where you fish, what you have caught and whether you had a good
day or not. Have you fished any of the fisheries
on this site? How did you rate it? Your views and suggestions on how to improve this site
are more than welcome, as are any fishy tales you might like to share,
so please go to the feedback section , let me know what you need, and
I'll do my best to include it.
In the meantime, good luck,
good
fishing and
remember,
a bad day's fishing is still better than a good day's work !!
