Facilities

 

Car parking is situated right next to the number 4 pond offering easy access for all anglers

 

There is a Toilet Block and Canteen with snack machines and hot and cold drinks available.

 

It is also a Touring Caravan site with 25 hard standing pitches with electric.

 

The fishery boasts 4 ponds with a good variety of fish offering the angler a

good choice.  All have island features and offer good shelter from the

elements making for a good day's fishing in pleasant surroundings.

All the ponds are easily accessible and are signposted from the car park.

Tickets are available from the cabin in the car park and MUST be obtained

before you start fishing.

All four are well stocked with a variety of fish including Carp to 22lb, 

Tench to 10lb and Bream to 8lb. There are also plenty of good sized Perch,

Roach, Rudd, Skimmers and Crucian Carp to keep you busy.

 

The nearest pond to the car park is Pond 4 which is the biggest pond

with 36 pegs.  There are Carp to 14lb, Tench to 6lb, Bream to 8lb, Roach,

Rudd, Skimmers and Perch.  The water varies in depth from 2' 6" to 6'6"

The other ponds are accessed by following the sign and the path leads you

to pond 1 which is next to ponds 2 and 3 making it fairly easy to switch from

one to the other if you wish.

 

Pond 1 has 20 pegs and varies in depth from 2' to 6'.  It also holds the larger

fish with Carp to 22lb, Tench to 8lb and Bream to 5lb.  There are also plenty

of Skimmers, Roach, Rudd and Perch.

Club matches can be booked by arrangement with the owners.

 

Current Prices

 

The price is only £5 per rod per day with fishing from dawn till dusk, £6 for 2 rods and only £4 for concessions.

Monies are placed in envelopes in the ticket office before fishing, or an extra £1 will be charged on the bank

How to get there

 

The fishery is situated down Bannister Lane in Wrightington..

Taking the A49 towards Wigan or the Leyland bypass, follow the signs for Bygone Times and Eccleston.  Bannister Lane is a turning next to a shop called Flair and the fishery is on this road just past the Brookhouse Pub

 

From M6 junction 27 travelling Northwards leave motorway turn left signpost Parbold in approx.1/4mile (church on right) turn right into Moss Lane. In approx.1mile take first right into Courage Low Lane continue forward for approx.1mile into Smithy Brow, Charity Farm is on the left.

Rules and Guidelines

For everyone's safety, the following rules and guidelines

have been set for the benefit of both the fishery and the angler:

 

Barbless hooks MUST be used at all times

No keep nets are permitted, with the exception of matches

Bloodworm is forbidden

Groundbait can be used in moderation

Landing Nets MUST be used

Keep all gates shut

Always use the Litter Bins provided

Anglers should remove all rubbish and not discard any unused bait

No Night Fishing

Anyone attempting to remove fish will be prosecuted

The owner accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to property

We reserve the right to check all bags and vehicles
