Although
this fishery has only been opened since February 2000, it is rapidly
becoming a popular venue for match and pleasure anglers alike. It
has the look and feel of fishing a canal with the width ranging
from 5 - 10 metres and is well suited for pole fishing.
The depth ranges from 2' to 5' but this will no doubt increase
with the rainfall. There are areas of cover for the fish and these
will develop as the vegetation grows.
It
is well stocked with a variety of fish
including Carp to 6lb, Tench to
3lb, Bream
to 4lb, and plenty of Crucians, Roach, Rudd and Hybrids,
with many fish averaging around 1lb.
This lake has
36 pegs, many dug into the high banking to provide cover. Popular
baits are maggot, corn, chopped worm and hempseed.
Opening
next spring is another lake similar in style to the existing one
and stocked similarly with Carp, Tench, Barbel, Bream, Perch, Chub
and Roach.
